My Zoom-Ready Makeup Routine

When I'm home all day every day, doing a full face of make-up is low on my to do list. After a few weeks of zoom meetings, however, it became imminently clear that I would be seeing my own face a lot more often. Instead of feeling ho-hum about my face in the little zoom box, I decided to employ a simple, easy and fast make up routine to make me dread the zoom-cam less.

Psst… if you’d like to get ready with me, check out my IGTV video where I do this makeup routine!

By now, we’ve got our zoom backgrounds on lock. We’ve figured out the space in our house with lighting that doesn’t make us look like we’re sitting in a cave when we answer a video call. Now, join me in the perfect no-fuss, zoom-ready, under-ten-minutes makeup routine.

I’ve talked about how clean beauty is important to me before, and this routine is no exception. I love products that are doing my skin a favor or two while I wear it. Every product here is packed with super-ingredients that nourish your skin throughout the day.

Here’s the break down…

First up, my holy grail, this Super Serum Skin Tint by Ilia. It’s packed with Hyaluronic Acids and has SPF 40 if you decide you want to take your WFH venture outside.

To top off my foundation, I use Ilia’s True Skin Serum Concealer. Ilia’s website says this concealer is “enriched with stabilized vitamin C and albizia julibrissin bark extract, True Skin Serum Concealer protects the skin from free radicals and environmental damage while helping to firm, soothe and nourish the skin’s surface.” I was just going for something that made me look more awake – but all these added benefits – I’ll take it!

Next up…

Next, I use the Face Trace Contour Stick in the shade Biscuit (how cute!) by Westman Atelier. The creamy texture makes it easy to apply on top of the skin tint. The formula is loaded with Organic Jojoba Oil, a natural antioxidant, to tone and restore skin and China Clay to absorb excess oil.

After my face is chiseled to the gods (can you tell I’ve been binging Drag Race?), I move onto blush and highlight. For blush, I also use Westman Atelier. I’ve been using the Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Dou Dou. It’s honestly a bit too berry toned for me, and I would love to try Minette, which is more of their peachy tone. The formula, however, is just as great as the other products in WA’s line. I was nervous about a stick blush; however, I was shocked at how easy it was to apply.

For highlight, I’m back to Ilia! I use the DayLite Highlighting Powder in Decades. I’m so impressed with this highlighter. It’s subtle enough to give you a hint of shine without feeling like you’re wearing glitter. This is not a “night out on the town” highlighter. It’s just perfect to give you a subtle shimmer that’ll convince your co-workers that you’ve definitely already showered.

The Finishing Touches!

This mascara is a total game changer. A little backstory: many, many mascaras give me “racoon eyes.” My face gets oily throughout the day that causes even the toughest formulas to break down. Not this one! The must-have mascara is Ilia’s Limitless Lash Mascara. It gives me length, separates, a slight curl and volume, and most importantly, stays put! No surprise it was an Allure Best of Beauty winner. Bonus: it’s infused with bee’s wax to condition your lashes throughout the day.

The very last touch – lips! Bite Beauty’s Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon in Stinger is my go-to. The color is extremely natural and the formula is extremely hydrating. It gives my lips just enough color to not look washed out on the zoom cam!

There you have it; my zoom-ready makeup routine! Here’s a live look at this makeup from my zoom cam on the right. Shop all the products below and let me know your favs.
